Resolve aching teeth promptly and safely with precision extraction techniques

Often, dental emergencies can be avoided by forming trusting, healthy partnerships with our team in Hot Springs, Arkansas: Benton Family Dentistry. During regular dental visits, our dentist, Dr. Kyle Benton, evaluates the condition of your teeth, gums, and mouth to detect problems early before they threaten the structure of your teeth and lead to the need for dental (tooth) extractions.  Even discomfort and swelling associated with impacted wisdom teeth can be avoided with routine visits.

However, there may be situations where a tooth cannot be saved. If we cannot preserve a tooth, its removal may be the only way to relieve pain, restore health, and avoid severe infections or abscesses, which also present systemic (whole-body) threats.

We do recommend prompt replacement of extracted teeth. Tooth replacement with dental implants or other options (such as a traditional fixed bridge) supports optimal function and maintains the strength of the supporting bone in the jaw.

Even discomfort and swelling associated with impacted wisdom teeth can be avoided with routine visits. During these visits, Dr. B uses the likes of safe and highly accurate digital x-rays to assess how teeth are developing in the jaws. He may recommend the proactive removal of third molars (or wisdom teeth) if your jaw does not have sufficient space for these last teeth to erupt. In such a situation, the tooth becomes “impacted” or trapped. It cannot break through the gums and is associated with persistent pain and potential complications to neighboring teeth and oral structures.

If we cannot preserve a tooth, its removal may be the only way to relieve toothaches, restore health and an attractive appearance, and avoid severe infections or abscesses, which also present systemic (whole-body) threats. We especially recommend prompt replacement of extracted teeth. Tooth replacement with dental implants or more conventional measures (such as traditional bridges) supports optimal function and maintains the strength of the supporting bone in the jaw.

Benton Family Dentistry encourages you to contact us today at (501) 623-6132 to schedule an appointment. We may be able to preserve your tooth and avoid extractions that then require more invasive and costly restorative treatments.
